Who are we?

We are a group of around thirty flautists and percussionists from the Shotts area of North Lanarkshire, who's ages range from eight to members in there sixties. Our main aim is to provide the local community with high quality music and entertainment. Therefore we participate in many local events including church events, children’s galadays, concerts and the SAFBA Scottish Championships. We are open to any request and will consider any booking.

The band play a selection of music from marches to classical overtures along with some more easy listening tunes. To achieve the best possible sound the band play a selection of instruments from piccolo to a sub contrabass flute some 4 octaves below along with a selection of percussion items including a drum kit, bass drum, tympani’s, cymbals, triangle and xylophone.

The band meets twice a week, in the Band Hall, Rosehall Road, Shotts

Practices are on a Monday and Thursday 7.30-9pm.

There is also a learners class for anyone wishing to learn either the flute or an item of percussion or both, classes are held on a Monday (Percussion) 9-10pm and on a Tuesday (Flute) from 7-8pm, both classes are taught by our experienced players with some having over 40 years playing experience.
